Stained Circles started as a tour promoter in early 2008, bringing the Dirtbombs and Jay Reatard to Australia. The original intention was to focus releases on bands from overseas we wanted to tour here, but we found straight away there were so many great Australian bands writing records that we wanted to release: along with licensing a handful of our favourite new records from the US with the intention to tour the bands here, we also released a series of 7" records and cassettes for local bands (and, rereleased the h100's Dismantle EP!) and the fantastic debut LP from Brisbane's Slug Guts Down On The Meat. After over 20 releases in less than two years we decided to hang up our boots for a while and let our heels cool, and the label is currently on hiatus.
